Zombie Campaign Results
Posted on 12/15/2011
In October, a crazy idea hatched in May of 2011 came to reality with the launch of our "How to Survive a Zombie Invastion" for 15 credit unions.
You can get some of the back story from CU Times:

Now the dust has settled and the results and feedback from credit unions has been great.
121 FCU
We booked 79 loans totaling $1,645,279.62 from campaign while gaining 17 new members.
Coastal Community FCU
We issued 80 new vehicle loans totaling $1,294,322.52!! My loan officers are feeling like Zombies. They made a killing on warranties and GAP!!
E&A
Our pre-campaign goal was $2.2 million in loans. However, the zombie campaign helped us more than double that with $4.2 million in loans.
MITFCU
In October, we had 60 auto loans totaling $973,264. At least 36 we can track as a direct result of the zombie campaign, but probably a lot more. For comparison, in September, we had 37 auto loans totaling $595,041. Here are a few of my favorite comments from members:
"Ha, awesome! I just checked out the website. I love that they’ve gone to the effort of making a short video too. :)"
"You should give the person who designed the ad some strong positive feedback! I think it is great! I am not currently in the market for a new vehicle, but the ad certainly caught my attention."
"As head of the MIT Zombie Defense Initiative, I feel it is my duty to inform you that an automobile, even a new one, is a terrible method of transportation for during a Zombie Invasion. Motorcycles are much better."
UniWyo
We’ve sent zombies around town with flyers and tattoos to our college campus, downtown shopping area, to a tailgate before the University’s Homecoming football game, and more! Our employees are definitely having fun with the campaign and we’re getting some good feedback from members as well. They have the walk down pretty good. - Mindy Uitterdyk
River City FCU
We got a LOT of positive comments on the campaign from members and staff. We did meet our sales goal, and with loans still in the pipeline, we are sure to surpass the goal we set in advance. I think the campaign compares very favorably to prior campaigns. - Eve Hernandez
Resource One FCU
"It looks like we did really well in part to Zombies! October was our 4th month in a row booking over $9 MM gross consumer loans, and it was the best month out of those 4 with a loan volume (per loan) of $11,742.88." - Dylan Orrell
Carolina Postal CU
Out of the 300 names we captured at Octoberfest – 70 wanted us to contact them!!! I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT MANY in all the years I’ve done this!!!! Granted the timing was perfect with everyone ticked off at the banks but the zombies definitely captured attention. We booked over 83% of our original loan goal thanks to the campaign. - Deb McLean
As you begin to prep for 2012, give us a shout as we would love to chat more about how we can rock together.
